Tevo Tornado upgrades
Hi guys.
Picked a Tevo Tornado up new years ago during COVID. Life got busy and I quit tinkering with it. Here recently I decided to pickup a Bambu A1 combo while they had a deal and while I am waiting on it, I thought I'd upgrade the ol' Tevo.
Looking for some help on print quality after these upgrades. 1. Installed E3D V6 (still a Bowden). 2. Bond tech BMG extruder. Lots of confusion with this one. I mounted it in the same orientation as the stock one, but I see that they are sometimes mounted sideways. I think when the Bambu comes in I will print the other mount and redo it. 3. BLTouch. I thought this would be the easiest, but it isn't. If anyone has a good guide on getting the correct Z Home and Offset, that would be great. 4. Firmware. This was a doozy. I'm comfortable enough in VSC and Arduino, so no issues there. I changed FW to the TH3d UFW because it looked like it simplified a lot of things. Then I realized I was missing some things.
One of the things I was missing was the min and max for the Z offset. I couldn't go higher than 1. The UFW didn't have easy support for the option, but Marlin did, soni went back to that.
That leads me to here. I think I have some under extrusion happening. I outlined it in red, but the first 13cm of that bed leveling print is missing. Sonia the first bit of the disc.
I will be doing another PID on the hotend as well as a verification on the extruder steps (set at recommendation of 415 currently).
I also noticed that my printer sounds like an ice cream truck now lol. Even if someone out there would be willing to share their configuration.h and advanced file for me to look over, I'd appreciate it.
Also, the filament is some Overture PLA+. Printed a couple good prints last week before the stock hotend gave up.
Here is the STL for the test print. https://thangs.com/designer/Charleston%203D%20Studio/3d-model/The%20Leveling%20Target%20~%20First%20Layer%20Test-1174354
