Help me understand tire wear

I switched over from Forza and in that game they accelerate tire wear so generally I could get 3-5 laps on any given track out of medium tires.

How do I figure that out in ACC? I actually disabled the on screen tire thing because I was hoping to use just the “in game” screen on my car itself but now I’m not sure if that’s best.

Sorry for the dumb question, I do monitor my PSI and I know where I want that to be but I’m not sure how long I can go before I have to worry about swapping new tires on.
