Is Aibo a good idea?

Into robotics but I’ve got a dog. Aibo is a truly innovative product from Sony, and I’ve always thought it was pretty cool after watching Unboxing Therapy’s video on it. Would you guys say it’s a good idea? For me I’m really into other Sony products too, and so this would be a different avenue to explore the Sony experience/ecosystem.
