AITAH for wanting my own birthday celebration
For every co-worker's birthday, we go out to eat. The birthday person always gets to pick the place and they don't pay for anything. The co-workers put together and pay for everything. The birthday person can tip if they want but this is optional. My birthday is on the horizon and happens to fall in the same month as our team-building event. Now the team building event (which is paid for by the company) has been merged to celebrate my birthday. Although I ultimately get a say in what we do, none of the activities was what I wanted to do for my birthday and I was expecting to get my own separate birthday night like everyone else. I feel like I show up and play and pay my part when it is everyone else's birthday but they decided to not do the same for me. AITAH for wanting my own birthday celebration separate from our company team building event like everyone else gets or should I just feel grateful that they are even celebrating my birthday?
