C63 blew up on the way home from the dealership
I bought a CPO used 2020 C63 from a Mercedes Dealership here in LA. 43k miles on it. Looked in perfect condition with a perfect CARFAX, all maintenance done etc. It's got 3 years of warranty.
On the way home from the dealer, as I'm revving up, the car sputters, engine light comes on. Seems very sticky accelerating and decelerating. Then the RPM gauge starts sputtering up and down, gears shifting odd, engine light starts blinking. Completely messed up.
I just about got it home.
Do I demand a refund immediately? If they can fix it or the diagnostics show something minor, should I keep it? Or should I cut asap?
Been trying to get my hands on this car for so long, I'm so disappointed. Been terrible luck so far.
EDIT : diagnostic tool shows it’s P0304 - Cylinder 4 misfire
EDIT 2: They’ve said it’s likely a busted coil. They’re going to have a proper look and gave me a loaner EQE. Dealership agreed to refund me if it’s anything more serious and said that would stand for the foreseeable future.
I’m going to trust the process for now, since it was a trade in, got a good deal and it’s on CPO warranty for 3 years. From what I understand a broken coil is a pretty modular break ie it’s not going to affect the rest of the engine.
