I have been given the run around twice now in regards to disputing a charge for a late equipment return.

I closed my AT&T Internet Air account in early December, and returned the equipment on December 9th. I have the receipt from UPS with me. I got a warning about not returning the equipment in early January. I talked to a CS rep over the phone, and his solution was to remove the auto pay and wait. Since I had already returned the equipment I had nothing to worry about, the equipment would appear shortly and the account would be closed.

Well lo and behold, there is a $200 charge that appeared on the closed account this morning. I talked to another CS rep, this time over the online chat, and all I have been told I can do again is wait for the charge to fall off. I asked to speak to someone who can fix this today and basically got told that is impossible and I just have to wait. They did "escalate" my case but I doubt that is going to do anything.

This has been by far the worst customer service experience I have had with AT&T. I have felt lied to and dismissed. Does anyone here know a quick way to dispute this charge? I literally have the UPS receipt on my desk showing I returned it, but giving either CS rep the Return Reference Number has done nothing.

Any help or suggestions for me on this is appreciated. Thanks.
