Surgical techniques
I have a Haglund’s deformity that has caused a high grade tear (not total rupture) and my ortho told me the only fix for this is surgery to get rid of that extra bone or it will just keep happening. When I asked about what to expect post op, he said non weight bearing for 2 weeks, a boot w/wedges for 4 weeks then back to a tennis shoe. This is much less time than I expected. Is this normal? Is there some kind of newer technique that he’s going to use? He even said I could probably go back to work while still wearing the boot if my job allows it (I’m an ER nurse) it just seems like an unrealistic time frame to me- but if it’s correct, I’m super happy about that.
Anyone know if there are different techniques?
