Is this normal?

I just bought an acoustic guitar online. It has a solid top and laminated sides and back. When checking inside the body from the sound hole I noticed the light was passing through some of the joints of the back. These are pictures I took with a torchlight behind the body. This guitar should be fairly well built (€800) and my other acoustic (€200) that is all laminated doesn't have this effect. Tell me your opinion: is it okay or is it a poorly built unit?

(On another note, can I remove the black strap in the last picture as I think it muffle the sound a bit?)
