YYZ-SIN or SIN-YYZ Thoughts?

Heya fellow Aeroplaners!

So, I need your expertise as I've never bought Aeroplan segments outside of North America.

Context:

I have 140k Aeroplan points, am I looking for 2 tickets (economy) Singapore-Toronto OR Toronto-Singapore, sometime in May or November.

Not picky about who I fly with, except no low-cost carriers.

I want to do 1 stop at the most, don't care how short or long this stop is, or whether it's in Paris, SF, Van, Tokyo etc etc.

I ultimately want to maximize my point redemption value in a sensible manner, so my questions are:

1) How would you approach this segment? Is there a key connecting airport to be considered or a specific route I should be aiming for?

2) Would it make more sense if I for example, pay for a flight to let's say Vancouver and from there I buy the segment YVR-SIN with my Aeroplan points?

3) Do you think I could stretch to buying two Premium Economy tickets for this wanted segment with 140k points?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance.

Edit: I should have mentioned my 140k Aeroplan points are being transferred through AMEX points. I haven't done this yet.

With this in mind, would it beehove me to transfer them to Cathay, AF, BA, etc. If my aim is to complete YYZ-SIN?
