How to merge while driving

many many people in Albuquerque, don’t seem to understand the method of or the reason for merging.

whether it is a regular merging lane while approaching a freeway ramp or emerge lane because of cones and construction, the general idea is the same people should use the entirety of the merging lane to merge, and then once both lanes are full every other car should come from an opposite lane. This is much like a zipper. The reason it should be done this way is so that it is fair for everyone.

recently, one driver decided to merge in long long before the end of his lane on the right end. This cost people in the left lane to believe that’s where people should be emerging. The reason you don’t do that. Is that forces the traffic to back up further and further back, maybe even beyond the previous traffic light.

So, please fill up both lanes so that the traffic doesn’t back up as far and then allow the person to your opposite lane to merge in.
