Plattys hanging out by heater

Hello, any advice or guidance on why my fish hangout near the heater so frequently. The heater is on the left side of the tank and the thermostat I have pictured is on the right with the current temp. I am also not sure if this is an issue but want them to be happy/healthy so any advice is welcomed
