Is Christmas a good time to visit Russia?

I’ve never been to a snowy region and I would love to go somewhere with pretty Christmas celebrations, snow and culture. Russia seems to be a good option given I can obtain a visa also easily.

Any suggestions, dos and donts?

Edit: Thanks for all the replies. I was aiming for Dec 25 to Jan 1 since that’s when I have my holidays. But regardless of when Russia celebrates Christmas, I’m keen to make my plans now.
