How sketchy is the area around Moynihan Hall at 3-4 am?

Just for context, I’ve been working remotely full time for the past 4 years. Unfortunately, I’m gonna have to commute to Washington DC once a week starting next month.

I’ll be taking the D train from South Brooklyn to 34th St in Manhattan then walk over to Moynihan Hall for the Amtrak train. It leaves at 4 am, so I’ll most likely leave my apartment at around 2:30 am.

I’ve lived in NYC for about 10 years so I’m used to being alert and aware, but I’ve never been in that part of Midtown past midnight by myself.

I’m also pretty scared of taking the D train from deep in Brooklyn at like 2:30 am. 😨

Would this be a bad idea? I’m a 5’1” Asian woman and I have had some bad experiences at the height of the pandemic. I can count the number of times I’ve been outside past 10 pm by myself on one hand since 2021 lol.
