HDMI 2.1 audio extractor
I have the A50 headset connected to my PS5 using the Astro HDMI audio adapter. It’s just ok. Does anyone know of a 3rd party device that can perform this same task but keep the 2.1 standards? The adapter takes it down to 2.0b which limits to 60Hz. I really dislike this.
I was thinking maybe I could split the HDMI signal… one to a monitor to keep the frame rate up and the other to the adapter to extract the audio. I just don’t know if that would work.
Any suggestions to get the full performance of my PS5 and monitor while still being able to use this headset?
Thanks
Edit: thanks for the responses. Astro gaming, please make a premium adapter that doesn’t downgrade and/or update the base station to not require an optical audio signal. PS5 has been out for more than a year. It’s a credit to Astro that I thought of them as a premium set when I wanted to buy a very good headset. It stinks that this forum is crowded with people generally unhappy with next gen console integration. Tick tock…..
