Residency Programs and Job Prospects

Hey everyone. So I am an undergrad doing a bachelor of science and commerce at Monash University. I want to do a residency program after I graduate so I can earn money whilst acquiring teaching experience. How beneficial is having something like this on your resume? Or does a residency program not do enough for your resume to warrant the commitment?

For context, I want to teach yr 11 and 12 VCE chem and/or business management
