i3 totaled not sure what to get next

This is part ranting and part seeking advice.

My 2018 fully loaded black tinted BEV was recently totaled because someone ran a red light. I’m not a car guy by any means, but I’ve fallen in love with driving this car for the past 6 years. The i3 is perfect for my lifestyle, almost as if it was made specifically for me (even down to seeing Larry David drive one in Curb). I live in the city, love the size for navigating town, I charge at home, and I don’t drive often or far).

I’d love to replace it with a 2021, but I’m having trouble finding my unicorn (BEV, large screen, HK, preferably Tera, heat pump). I was in talks with a dealer, but it sold before we could figure out shipping. I’ve found another online but it’s around $30k. I’m on the east coast and there aren’t many i3s near me, so it’ll most likely have to be shipped which is tricky as there are some gems on lots, but dealers don’t want to deal with out of state sales. This is where I’m looking for advice.

Is it worth it to spend that much on a 3 year old car or should I really start considering something else? I haven’t really loved any of the other electric cars on the market (why is every car so big?!) and I fear I’ve been “Bimmer-Pilled” and I don’t want to step down to something like a Bolt. So far my leading replacement would be a Mach E Mustang — but not really wild about it (family discount though) or perhaps the Ioniq 5. The MINI would be close to ideal, but I think the range of the i3 is my lower end limit (the larger battery in a 2019+ would be incredible for me).

I’m not even sure what my budget truly is, finding an ideal i3 under $30k would be great, but I can afford something more, be it lease or buy. With interest rates being so high it does sort of push me towards a lease (the totaled one was 2.5%!)

Like I said this is a bit of a rant, but I welcome any advice on an i3 or a different car.
