Homemade picked onions????!!!!🧅

I made pickled onions today just using red onion, garlic and peppercorn and 2 cups of water, 2 cups of distilled white vinegar,1/3 of sugar and 2 tbsp of salt. I plan on eating them tomorrow, but I’m getting a lot of misinformation about how pickled onions (homemade) can cause listeria? This is my first pregnancy so I’m super cautious and would like some confirmation that it’s safe to eat these tomorrow? I also pickled some cucumbers with the same solution and wondered if it’s OK to eat as well is not helping or nor as my friend.

(I did not do the canning process ) just simply pickling them….
