What is the general consensus regarding Starforce 2 these days?

I’ve been thinking about revisiting SF2 lately since it’s the only title in the SF series that I haven’t played in the past year, and I started wondering… how do people perceive this game nowadays? I remember the biggest issues being the overly complicated maps, coupled with the random encounter rate being high leading to a lot of frustration.

I might be an outlier, but despite those issues I genuinely enjoyed the game. Each of the new forms were genuinely balanced in how powerful they were if I’m not mistaken, and the story was pretty solid for what it was worth. I liked the theme of an ancient civilization being tied with advanced technology.

Other than that, has your opinion of the game changed since you first played it?
