My boyfriend broke up with me by text after ghosting me for a week

So I dated this for six months who I was crazy about, and everything seemed totally fine until last Monday. I got upset with him because he had me wait around all day for him to be done with work and then told me I had to leave because his friend was staying over. I live an hour and a half away so I wasn’t thrilled. He apologized six times and I left - I thought we would just talk it out a day or two later but instead he ghosted me for a week and then broke up with me via text saying that I made his life worse. He’s not giving me any clues about why he’s being like this, we had gone on a date and spend the night together the day before and then he totally flipped it on me. Why would someone break up with someone they say they love by text?
