College Student Budget Full Setup
College Student Budget Full Setup
I’m very happy with my current setup and it’s been a lot of budgeting, adjusting, and learning the ins and outs of audio gear. I had saved up and bought myself a Sony PS-LX310BT a little over a year ago and had it connected to a Vizio soundbar, which began my obsession. However, I never had the cash to spend for real speakers and I would stalk this reddit hoping to one day have a setup.
Now I do, and I just wanted to post it because I’m so proud. My grandma passed away recently, and despite my devastation, I’m able to keep a part of her near me as I inherited her sound system. She passed me down a 1987 Yamaha set with a the AV-35, two NS-A380 floor speakers, two NS-A70 rear speakers, EQ-32, CD-30, and a few other goodies. Had to do a lottttt of DIY tinkering especially on the CD-30, the speakers, and the AV-35, but it’s paid off for how inexpensive it’s been and how much I’ve learned.
Following that I decided to upgrade my turntable and was able to score a Technics SL-3200 on marketplace for a little over $100. I got myself a nice AT cartridge onto it and love the sound. The AV-35 ended up giving me some issues with corrosion and leakage as it’s so old, and after some tinkering I’m setting it aside for a project when I have more money. In the mean time, I scored a fully functioning Denon DRA-345R receiver for $10 on marketplace which produces some great sound.
So in the picture what is shown/actively being used:
Technics SL-3200 with the AT cartridge
the Yamaha speakers set on Pyle isolation pads
Denon DRA-345R receiver
Yamaha EQ-32
With “Lovage: Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady by” and Len Lye visual arts from Youtube. Hope you like the vibes! I checked the sub rules and it seems like since this is a full setup in the room I’m using it in, it’s all fair for me to post today :) reposted with the correct flair
