First time in Buenos Aires: need advice :)

Hi everyone!

I’m a 22-year-old girl, and I’ll be visiting Buenos Aires for the first time soon. I’m super excited to explore the city, but I could really use some tips from locals or people who’ve been there before. Here are a few questions I have:

New Year's Eve: What do you usually do on New Year's Eve? I've heard there are no fireworks or big celebrations, but are there any festive options, like restaurants, events, or parties?

Safety: How dangerous is the city? Can I take pictures with my phone on the street? Is it safe to carry my phone in my pocket while walking around? What neighborhoods should I avoid altogether, especially at night?

Money: Should I exchange my money to pesos, or is it better to bring dollars? What's the safest way to exchange currency? Do most places accept credit cards, or is cash preferred? Are there any virtual payment systems commonly used in Argentina?

Scams: Are there any common scams that I should be aware of as a tourist?

Language: Is it better to speak in broken Spanish, decent English, or even Portuguese when talking to locals? Which option is usually more well-received?

People: I've heard mixed things about Argentinians—are they friendly towards tourists? Any tips for connecting with locals?

Accommodation: What's the best neighborhood to stay in for safety, convenience, and access to main attractions?

Food and drinks: What are the absolute must-try dishes and drinks in Buenos Aires? And where can I find the best empanadas, alfajores, or parrillas (steakhouses)?

Hidden gems: Are there any lesser-known spots that are worth visiting?

Must-see places: What are the essential tourist spots that I can't miss while in Buenos Aires?

Transportation: Is it better to use taxis, Uber, or public transport? Is parking easy if I’m driving around the city?

Cultural tips: Are there any museums, shows, or events that locals love but tourists often miss?

Thanks so much in advance for your help! I’m looking forward to your recommendations and can’t wait to experience the city.
