DSP Participation interview
I've been on the DSP (disability support pension) for a couple of years now and I've woken up to an SMS this morning saying I had a phone interview booked for tomorrow. Obviously, I was very confused as I did not organise this and had no reason to. Initially, I thought it might be because I've recently been approved for a TPD payout by my super company's insurance. Anyway, I rang to reschedule because I had an appointment at the same time as the booking and they told me over the phone that it was a participation interview. a bit of googling later and I've discovered that this is some sort of scheme to get people off the pension and into work.
How worried should I be about this and is there anything I can do to prepare for it? I'm really worried they're going to try to take away my pension as I have ASD and bipolar. Centrelink is not kind to invisible disabilities and the DSP has been a total lifeline for me.
P.S. I am currently attending university to gain a qualification to eventually get back into work at a career that fits my unique issues.
