What am I in for?
Hi everyone. I’m probably going to have to do chemotherapy. I have kind of a rare situation so my apologies if this isn’t super clear. I had a miscarriage that was later discovered to be a partial molar pregnancy, and it has resulted in complications. I don’t 100% understand the situation as I’ve yet to see the specialist but I had regrowth which is not good and my pregnancy hormones are not returning to normal. I had an abnormal ultrasound that was concerning. I’m also starting to be in pain. This kind of thing can cause choriocarcinoma. My doctor told me the treatment is chemo. I think they typically use methotrexate.
Can anyone just share their experience of what this might be like? I just want to be as aware of what I’m going into as I can be. I am very very scared and distressed. They even gave me a small script of Ativan. I only have one vein in my arm that’s accessible without an ultrasound machine, so I’m also concerned about how they deliver the medication as getting an IV is a serious ordeal for me.
If anyone can share their experiences, advice, or tell me realistically what I might be in for I’d appreciate it. Thanks.
