Why is the campaign so punishing

I hate the goddamn campaign Im only playing the campaign to level up fast but it’s so difficult to the point where your getting raided by 2 gangs at once and you have to pick which one turf you want to keep then I get bankrupt and then I reset the campaign it’s just so punishing any tips to make it easier?
