Just tried out a HiBy R4

Honestly pretty content. I was expecting the thickness to be way worse than I imagined. Weight is noticeable, but I can get behind it. I’d rather it have some weight to it than feel like a slippery feather.

Oh yeah, the build is also very nice too. I had thought it’d feel more like plastic. But it’s a really pleasing finish that informs the design really well.

If I wasn’t considering other DAPs right now, I’d totally return this and get an R4xEVA. It’s really solid.

Only issue I noticed after a few moments is indeed, the overheating issue people have mentioned. Only had it playing a few of my flacs for a handful of minutes before the things started getting warm. It’s not scalding. But it is noticeable.

Also pay no mind to the bubbles. The screen protector came pre-applied. And I sort of messed with that bit while navigating the menus.
