Music And Copyright

So doug used music in his videos... like a normal person, but how does he get away with using songs from games like mario kart, botw and persona 5 without any claims or takedowns or anything, i get that he links them in the description but is that all that it takes for the music to be "fair use"?

I just don't get how it works because I was thinking of making a youtube channel and didn't really want generic music and would want music from bigger games / companies like this but don't want to get anything taken down or strikes etc
