Brain tree flak farming not working at all. Patched out?

While trying to farm brain trees for raw materials with flak and collector limpets; when the flak explodes the brain trees do not drop anything, when I get out on foot o can see that the brain trees do have outcrops on them. Tried on two different moons

It would seem that while in my ship the brain trees do not spawn outcrops. Is this true for everyone else. Did they work brain tree farming out of the game?

I also had problems with the clusters of brain trees loading in requiring me to land my ship for them to spawn. This made it difficult as I had to land and then look for a cluster. Any ideas on this, tried with both ultra settings and be ultra settings.
