Embroidering a hardcover Moleskine?

Hi, everyone! I was wondering if it would be possible to embroider a hardcover Moleskine notebook? I’ve been thinking about making one for my mom’s birthday, but I wasn’t really sure how to carry through with it. I was thinking about maybe pre-poking the holes on the cover? What do you guys think?
