A year later, the question still lingers

Isn’t it strange how someone can feel like your whole world, then walk away without a second thought?

A little over a year ago, my ex left me suddenly. We were living together, had two cats, close to her family… I thought everything was fine. But in one day, it all ended. She was clear that nothing I did could change things, so I respected her decision—I never reached out or begged. Since then, I’ve rebuilt myself with new friends, therapy, and fitness, but sometimes I still wonder: how could she just leave without looking back?

I want to believe she loved me, even if she was always a bit distant. But that question still lingers.
