advice for ED-recovered working out
I had an eating disorder for about three years but recovered once I realized I was trans and hating my body was dysphoria related and it basically went away once I started dressing masculine. I stopped looking at my body completely after that which worked well, but I’d like to start building a better physique as I’ve just gotten top surgery and would like to build up my chest and upper body. However, I am a bit worried that starting to focus on my body’s shape and weight as well as what I eat will trigger my ED again. For reference I am 5’8 and about 140-150 lb, 2 years on T, pretty average but no significant muscle except my thighs which is just genetic in my case.
any advice for getting into fitness from anyone who’s dealt with an eating disorder before? or any tips in general really.
