buying a house in my early 20's?
sorry if this is a stupid question, i genuinely need advice. at lunch with my mom the other day. told her about my bf and i's shitty downstairs neighbor in our new apartment complex. told her that we plan on looking for a townhouse/house to rent out in a year. mom told me to instead look at buying a house.
i turned 21 last november, am in college full time, working 2 part time jobs to pay rent/utilities. my bf is on his way to becoming an electrician, he starts classes in june, doordashes all day on top of that. we want to live in a townhouse/rent out a house, somewhere with a fenced in backyard for his big dog, however the college town i am in doesn't have much to offer in our budget. they do have a few houses for sale, however. should i listen to my mother's advice? she says there is a lot of benefits for first time home buyers, and buying a house when you're young will be beneficial for us. i've never even considered the idea of buying a house at my age. what should i do?
