Why Does Everything in Town Seem Out of Place?
Apologies if this has been asked before.
Is there any legitimate explanation as to why the town’s buildings look out of place? For example, there’s a school now used as a clinic, but there’s no actual clinic. The post office is now being used as a sheriff’s office, complete with a cell. The church is made of stone, while the rest of the town looks more modern in comparison. There’s a pool without a hotel, a diner straight out of the ’70s, and a large house that looks like it belongs on a plantation.
We also don’t know why there’s no actual clinic or police station in town, which is odd for any functioning community. I know most people have lived there for years and probably asked the same questions at some point, but it makes me curious that no one says anything about how everything looks out of place, not even newcomers. The only exception seems to be Victor’s dad, who pointed out the obvious about why there’s a motel sign with no actual motel in town.
