The 2 most basic pain killers people take! I personally have been on PPI's on and off for 4 years and have been fine. Omeprazole started giving me muscle spasms in my chest for a couple days so I stopped taking that and moved to esomeprazole and was fine.  I had an Endo back in December and the doctor put me on 80mg of pantoprazole to try to heal my esophagitis and some inflammation in my stomach.\n\n It can also not be the meds themself but how you take them.  I was taking both pills of the pantoprazole in the morning when I woke up for about 4 weeks. I had brain fog, felt off, headaches, anxiety which were common side effects of it.  My dad who has been on PPI's for over 10 years told me to take 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening. I kind of rolled my eyes but sure enough it made all of the difference, and I don't feel weird anymore. I'm only on the 80mg until my next follow up endo in February to make sure my esophagus healed and look at the hiatal hernia they found in my last one. \n\nEverything will be okay! Once you woke up you will probably be giggling at how easy it was and be thinking about how great of a nap you just took was. It goes by so quick! Think of it like this. Your body is taxed. Your enzymes are pushed to their limit. You need to slow down. Eat smaller portions. Start doing like 6-7 meals a day super super small.                               <h1>Scared to start Omeprazole </h1>

I feel like all I read on here are horror stories about people who start Omeprazole. I was prescribed a 40mg capsule once a day. Trying to convince myself to take it tonight after dinner but I am so nervous/anxious about this 😭😭</p>

<p>Edited to add - I took it about an hour ago and I’m still alive guys LOL </p>

<p>I appreciate all of the commentary, I know I’m a spaz but this stuff just freaks me out. </p>
