Different pronunciation of 'ει'?

Hi. Maybe it is very simple question but I know ει sound exactly like ι,η...etc but I heard someone pronouncing it as ε and ι saperately like ey from english word hey.

Since it completly contradicts my knowledge, I repeated the video 100 times but I don't think I heard it wrong.

So, is there a different sound from ει that my greek grammer book didn't tell me? It sounded like εϊ like french ï but I thought that was only in ancient greek...
