Am I just getting crankier because I'm older, or did people have better spatial awareness with their shopping carts back in the day?

I've been pushing shopping carts for over 40 years in supermarkets, department stores, and places like Costco. It seems like things have gotten much worse in the last 10 years with dumbasses blocking aisles for no good reason.

I mean, if I think about it, this was probably happening just as much 40 years ago too. So maybe I was the one doing it back then? Or was I just less cranky?
