First year of dating gift??

It’s approaching mine (22F) and my boyfriend’s (22M) first anniversary (best friends for 5 years prior to getting together) and my idea is to paint a little wooden box and fill it with things he will like. I don’t want to be too sappy if he’ll dislike that, but I wondered whether you guys had any ideas of little things to fill it with. He’s a creative type, into music, plays piano, incredibly smart and loves history and psychology. Not into DIY and doesn’t have a beard for the inevitable ‘beard wax’ comment lol. I will be grateful for any ideas, i just need men’s opinions on whether he’ll actually like this or whether it’s too feminine or sappy
