First time player

hey! so i just started playing God of War 2018 tonight and ive been loving it so far. im a first time player so all these upgrades, armors, enchantments, etc etc are all very new to me as i dont play open world games like this really. i was just looking for advice on what to focus on early in the game? im still very early like the water just went down, i saw the serpent, and im about to get to the mountain early. theres a lot of information and its very overwhelming at first so anything is appreciated. thank you!
