Multiple Android 15 features didn't come with the OTA update today
I'm noticing a bunch of purported Android 15 and/or October Feature Drop features missing in Android 15 after installing via OTA update just now:
- No new Pixel weather app
- No notification cooldown
- Device diagnostic incl. Battery Health
- Adaptive Screen Timeout
- Transparent nav bar as default (not even working when toggled in dev options for me)
Still poking around to see what else is missing, but those two I noticed right away since they were some of the only additions that I was looking forward to in this release.
Were they both delayed to the December update or something? If so, why is the new Pixel weather app being advertised as being part of the October Feature Drop in Google's official blog posts today?
Post other missing Android 15 features in here if you find them. Would be nice to aggregate them all into one thread.
EDIT: I'll be adding to this list as other missing features are confirmed on my device.
UPDATE: So yeah, it looks like the A15 OTA is separate from the October Play Services update, which is the Feature Drop. I'm still sitting on the September Google Play Services update version after upgrading to A15, so I guess now I wait. Media outlets really shouldn't be conflating some of these October Pixel Drop features with new Android 15 features IMO. And then I guess some other features being shown off in A15 coverage/reviews aren't even coming until ANOTHER separate update maybe in December. What a mess.
