Finally conquered how to maintain the HAIR on a hair system

I did it guys! finally figured it out. Keeping the hair looking fresh on a hair system was probably my biggest challenge. It kept drying out, giving it a straw like look after like a couple weeks of installing new.

I tried everything, using organic hair serums, leave in conditioners, argan oils, colour safe shampoo conditioners, random other oils, special silicone mix conditioners, hair masks etc.. Doing conditioner only washes, nothing ever lasted. The dry look would start appearing after 6 hours or so.. Also, using all these products would stiffen the hair and cause alot of build up.

Something I noticed was, when I dyed the hair, then used the box conditioner, the hair felt brand new again. The feeling, the flow, everything! I researched the conditioner, turns out box conditoners have some smoothing properties and a very high % of silicone in them. On top of that hair dyes open up the cuticles with peroxide.

After many experiments, I went back to basics to look for something that would replicate this effect. It lead me to tresemme smooth and silky because it has smoothing agents and silicone. The results wernt as good as I wanted, then I had the bright idea of using the same conditioner as a leave-in. Thats when everything changed. The smoothness was back but not as much shine, so I went and tested out Ogx Moroccan Argan Oil (noticed it has alot of silicone in ingredients) after applying the conditioner. Boom, brand new hair again, the flow, the bounce, lightweight, shine!! its back baby!

Basically, after that I threw away all the extra products, serums, masks and other bs out the window and now left with only 3 (4) simple products. Colour safe shampoo without sulphates, non-coloursafe shampoo with sulphates (just in case theres build up, so far algood), smooth and silky conditioner (to use as normal and as leave in), Ogx Moroccan Argan Oil (basically silicone oil?).

Morale of the story, all this extra junk out there claiming to repair hair or do stuff for your hair is just modified versions of the same basic things.

In the end shampoo cleans to the point of removing moisture, conditioner re-adds moisture, silicone seals moisture.
