Best U68N/U68K HDR calibration settings
I’ve had my Hisense U68K tv for over a year now, and after hours and hours of toggling with the settings, I believe I have finally found the best possible settings for this TV. Let me know if you have any suggestions or how you like it if you decide to try it out.
HDR SETTINGS:
Picture Mode: HDR Standard
Contrast: 100
Brightness: 49
Color: 67
Tint: 0
Sharpness: 21 (personal preference here)
Color temperature: Mid-Low
All other advanced settings turned off, but again personal preference
Explanation: For this I’ve turned the contrast up to 100 because this TV doesn’t have particularly bright HDR. Turning up the contrast to 100 helps a lot in getting the HDR to a brighter level. I’ve turned down the brightness to 49 to highlight the blacks a bit more, you can keep it at 50 if you prefer a more uniform image. I’ve turned up the Color to 67 because I believe this is the sweet spot between too dull vs too vibrant, again you can adjust to your personal preference.
It’s also important to note that in the old firmware, there was a way to “turn off” the hdr so all of the pixels would have the same brightness. You can do this by toggling the instant game response between auto and on. This creates a glitch which makes the picture appear far brighter than it should with HDR turned on. When I first got the tv I thought this was the solution to how dark my HDR looked. With the new firmware you can no longer toggle this. I still use this from time to time when I’m watching something on Netflix that has terrible HDR (way too dark) and it makes the picture appear brighter.
