Reasoning behind also wrapping frieze board in aluminum when redoing soffits and fascia?
We have a 132-year-old brick house with wooden fascia, soffits, frieze board, and crown moulding. We're at the end of our rope with the squirrels and are getting our soffits and fascia covered in aluminum, even though it will also cover the crown moulding. The house is a rental/investment property.
After signing the contract, he came back and said that he missed that we have frieze board and said it would be an extra $2600 to also aluminum cover that. I asked if that was necessary and he said the project can be done without it but that we probably wouldn't be happy with the results because it would look unfinished.
After looking at our house and other pictures online, I can't understand how it would look unfinished. (I can't find out the specifies an uncovered frieze.) So I'm asking the pros in this group- is it true that a house with aluminium-wrapped soffits and fascia but wooden/unwrapped frieze boards looks bad/unfinished?
I can share pictures in comments if needed. Thank you!
