Should I be worried about these cracks where ceiling meets wall?
I’ve noticed some cracks where the wall meets the ceiling in my living room. Been doing some research on this and it sounds like it could either be regular settling or a structural issue.
The things that are causing my concern (possibly overthinking since I tend to think worst case scenario) is that the house is 40 years old. Settling should be over by now, right? I’m also nervous because the tub and laundry room are on the second floor above this area. I haven’t noticed any water or anything, but could it be moisture from that area somehow causing it?
I live in the Midwest and it’s really cold right now, and can also get really humid in the summer, so maybe that could have an effect as well?
Also, I just got the walls and ceiling painted a couple years ago, so these cracks have happened within that time frame.
Any help would be much appreciated! Not sure if I’m overthinking or this should be cause for concern.
