Huntsville Hertz rentals memorial Pkwy just screwed my son over
He reserved a car yesterday. Last night changed the location of the Hertz he was picking up a car from. Deposit was paid. After he took a pretty expensive Uber ride to get there, the guy behind the counter said he wasn't going to honor the reservation, and it would take 5-10 business days to get his deposit back. So my son was stuck there until I could go get him.
He wouldn't refund the deposit, or honor the reservation, somehow, they would be in trouble with corporate? How does that make any sense? Nobody called my son to let him know it wouldn't be honored, and the guy lied about not having contact information to let him know.
When I got there to pick him up and figure things out, there were no employees to be seen at all. Just my son, grandkid, and another customer. Were they hiding?
What the hell? He's waiting for his car to be fixed, and just needs a car to get to work and back. And they are keeping the deposit on the car they won't rent him for 5-10 business days?
BOO!
Update, the reason he was denied is because they decided to send all the cars to the airport, including the one he reserved. There was an important meeting taking place yesterday ( that my son was actually part of!!!) and the little jerk working wouldn't even call his manager to make an exception for someone involved in that same meeting could rent.
A local company contacted me about the situation, and he is on his way there, now.
Thank you, McCurry Van and Rental!
