I picked up the series after 4 years

Hi everyone, so this is just kinda a rant/open discussion after I caught up to the lastest free-pass since around chapter 80~90

First of, I didn't dropped it because I was bored or dislike the webtoon, actually this was and is one of my fav reads of all time. I dropped it because I lost interest after frequent hiatus, so I decided to wait it out.

I really loved how hard the emotional bits hit, and how the comedy is still as good as I remembered. The art style has improved significantly and the most recent ch. Looks incredible.

The writing for the characters imo is really what set the series apart from everything else, they all felt so 'human' and realistic, how they act, their reasoning, interaction with other characters and the reason behind it (some we might not know yet) all somehow make sense.

However the flashback arc.. I've peeked inside this subreddit from time to time and sometimes seeing how many chapters are up on webtoon, so I'm aware of that. What I can say having read it in a batch is.. it's still kinda out of style from the rest of the series. I just don't really get why we needed it to be so detailed and long, other flashbacks are at most a few chapters long, but a reason I can think of is maybe Quimchee is trying to experiment somethings and write out the whole flashback. In the end I skipped some dialogue that are irrelevent to the story.

But now we're kinda in the middle of a big arc, and I'm back to the torture of waiting weekly for more content 🤣 I just wished the subreddit is more active tho specially on discussion threads :)
