I had a weird encounter with a nurse

So this happened about 3-4 months ago and I still think about it occasionally. I had a few polyps in my uterus and had to get them removed through surgery.

The nurse I had the day of surgery was one I’ve ran into a couple times already and she was always nice and normal. As the nurse was getting me ready (and the anesthesiologist was working on his stuff next to me) she started asking the usual questions like my DOB and confirm again the surgery I’m there for. But then it got weird…

Nurse: “Is your husband here to drive you home after the surgery?”

Me: “Yep. He’s here”

Nurse: “Is it your first or second husband?”

Me: “What?” (I thought it was an odd question and wasn’t sure if I heard her right)

Nurse: “Is it your first or second husband?”

Me: “Uhhh… my first”

Nurse: “Oh. Second husbands are always better”

Anesthesiologist: (looking very confused) “Why would you ask that?”

The anesthesiologist then pushed the meds through and I was out pretty quick after.

It was a different nurse there to help me post surgery and I actually haven’t seen the first nurse since then. Not sure if that’s just a coincidence though.
