Panic and anxiety because of Student Visa got approved. Is it worth it to move to Canada these days?
Hi everyone,
I’m an Indian Citizen having an experience of more than 4 years in IT as a consultant/ developer. I have been planning to move to Canada for a while now, and things were better/ okayish around 2021- 2023.
I recently got an offer from Wilfrid Laurier University, waterloo for masters in Applied computing. But there are other things to consider. The job market doesn’t seem good and canadian citizens themselves are struggling now to land a Job as i scrolled through a lot of subreddits for cscareers/ torontoJobs. The healthcare and QOL is declining and won’t be getting back on track for at-least this decade. I thought maybe starting from Q1 2026, the job market will get better as immigration numbers will be cut down significantly (even though i might have to return back to my country but i will be coming back with some ROI and international experience), but now there is Trump tariffs and his threat to Canada’s economy which will now again cut down more Jobs drastically and the situation may turn much more worse for Canadians and immigrants. Also, COL is rising through the roof.
I’ve been searching to hear something good about it, but in the last 2 years, i haven’t heard many good things about canada and its economy, its just mostly negative noise everywhere. Considering all the cons, do you think that I should come to Canada in May 2025? Or that I should cancel my plans, withdraw my funds and it will be better to target EU?
