Movement question

So question during a tournament had an armiger and rex about charge a monolith through the center had warglaive just on point wit rex slightly around corner to make his way through the center they had hecled me as rex had moved past the glaive down center with pivot was forced a battle shock test because rex had in the t.o. eyes crossed the terain over 6" tall wich had put rex in shock ultumitly didnt save the monlith how ever based on the super walker rule the rule states can move over non titanic models or 4in or less (not recieve shock) 5"+terrain ( shock test) am i right to assume that the whole interaction of crossing the terrain should not have happemed in this case as rex could have crossed past the glaive with rules as written?
