[RANT] State of men's fashion in an average Indian mall

Recently I(M) went to a mall (tier-2 city) with a friend (F) for shopping and just hanging out. Went to lifestyle and another similar store. Her section had elegant dresses, classy formals, soothing colors and great designs. It looked like they put serious effort coming up with it. Men's section: bad graphics tees, ugly logos, abhorrent and hideous colors, downright bad designs, the dreaded check shirts were everywhere (not all were bad) and more.

We walked around the men's section and could find some decent ones but I thought to myself: is this it? Who designed these? Why do these look so bad? Why does it look like someone with no intention (possibly a boomer?) designed these and thought it was a good idea to put it out for sale? How did we end up here? Was it always that bad? I'd rather go to Myntra/AJIO but why the stark difference? No wonder an average Indian man doesn't dress up nice and has bad fashion sense. Also, this indirectly is a proof that the girlfriend effect is real. Women get far better looking clothes on an average and have way better eye for an outfit because of it.

I ended up going to one of the local shops and found better clothes there.

TLDR: went to a local mall, men's clothing section was bad.

Rant over. Thank you for reading.
