Tired of my parents thinking I’m addicted to phone

So, I’m 17F, in school, and my parents think I’m “addicted” to my phone. They bring it up every single day like it’s the root cause of every problem in my life (or theirs?). “Tu sara din bhar bas phone mein ghusi reheti hai,” is their favorite dialogue, and no amount of explaining makes them chill. And I’m just sitting there like… I literally use my phone for studying most of the time??

My screen time is barely 3 ½ hours a day, and half of that is me watching YouTube lectures or Googling stuff for school because my teachers only provide notes online, like on WhatsApp groups or PDFs we have to download. So, I don’t even have an option but to use my phone for studies. Also, guess what? They never got me a laptop even though I’ve been asking for one for years. Meanwhile, my younger brother who’s barely in 7th grade, has an entire PC setup in his room. He uses it to play Valorant all day, but apparently, that’s fine because “he’s just a kid, kids like to play games.” like wtff???

The worst part is they don’t even believe me when I tell them I’m studying. If I’m using my phone, they assume I’m wasting time, or probably busy chatting with my friends.

I’m so frustrated because I’ve tried explaining this to them like a million times, but they just brush it off or start lecturing me about how “hamare zamane mein toh yeh sab nahi tha.” Like, I get it, you didn’t have phones back then, but it’s 2025! My phone is literally my only option!

Am I wrong to feel this way? How do you all deal with parents who don’t get it?
