Assurant Claims /SIU
So October 26th somebody broke into my rental and stole my personal belongings and my kids. Total Stolen Was about ($8k).
Timeline to help
•October 26th incident occurred •Filed claim same day.
My adjuster had barely if at all kept in contact with me and around 11/15/24 she sent a letter saying she needs an additional 15 days.
December 6th comes around and I get two emails; 1) by my adjuster requesting the same information that’s been on file since 10/26/24. ( Pictures of damage , police report , receipts etc). The second email came from a SIU investigator saying that they been assigned to my claim and if they need anything further she will reach out.
I took the step in reporting them to IDOI on 12/7/24. Still haven’t heard anything for 2 weeks.
I then call today 12/19; for a customer rep to say , my claim had been assigned to a new claims adjuster and they never sent me an email or mail. Also the old manager and Assurant did receive my claim from IDOI and they are reviewing it. She also said that my new claims adjuster and her new manager are reviewing my claim.
MY QUESTION IS; What’s going to happen with my claim? Should they even have had it for this long? Do you think they would approve or deny the claim?
